By investing in a full-scale LED press printing machine and initiating works on the third production site in Białystok, Masterpress aims to strengthen its competitiveness in the sustainable packaging transition.
Masterpress, a European provider of high-quality label and packaging solutions, announced it is expanding its operational and production capabilities by adding a new LED press printing machine, and breaking ground on its third facility in Białystok, Poland.
The LED press, manufactured by Mark Andy Inc., a U.S.-based machinery manufacturer, is expected to start printing at the Masterpress site in Białystok in October this year.
“Our latest investment reflects Masterpress’s strategic commitment to driving continued growth and maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency,” says Gabriel Magdaleno, Strategic Product Management and Marketing Director at Masterpress.
How will this impact the labeling and packaging supply chain?
The new LED press aims to boost Masterpress’s competitiveness, further strengthening its market position to deliver new innovative and sustainable solutions to customers across the labeling and packaging supply chain, including brand owners.
The new machine is expected to reduce print costs in long-run jobs thanks to its high-speed performance of up to 750 feet per minute (fpm). An automatic tensioning system further contributes to less material waste and reduces stress on the operator. Additionally, the LED press has a faster changeover time in its print stations and bearer tool design. This ensures safe use for immediate changeover of tooling size without the need to adjust ink and impression settings.
Moreover, the new LED press consists of energy-efficient features, which are expected to reduce carbon emissions across the packaging and labeling supply chain. These features include dryer adjustability for recirculation, reducing energy consumption through better temperature and airflow control.
“Despite a volatile global environment, we cannot stand still when it comes to our growth and competitiveness. The new LED press, as well as the ongoing site expansion, resonate with our industry’s and customers’ push for both competitiveness and sustainability,” Mr Magdaleno underlines.
Strategic Białystok site expansion
In addition to expanding its machinery portfolio, Masterpress is also actively growing its physical footprint. The company has begun work on expanding its operations and has officially broken ground on its third facility in Białystok.
Once completed, the third facility will consist of new modern offices, warehouse and production areas. “We’re aiming to grow from all angles, which is reflected in this announcement. Masterpress seeks to boost its capabilities with leading machinery, expand its physical footprint with a new site – while lowering its environmental footprint by introducing new sustainable products, predicated on a strong footing in research & development,” says Mr Magdaleno.
