Beldam Crossley Shortlisted in Two Categories at Prestigious Make UK Manufacturing Awards

Company News

Bolton-based Beldam Crossley, a leading North West manufacturer, has been shortlisted in two categories at this year’s Make UK Manufacturing Awards – Best Innovation and Best Energy & Sustainability business.

The recognition places Beldam Crossley alongside some of the region’s largest and most pioneering manufacturers, highlighting the company’s commitment to developing world-class solutions while driving forward its sustainability agenda. If successful in the North West regional awards, Beldam Crossley will automatically be entered into the national awards announced in January.

In the Innovation category, Beldam Crossley has been recognised for its advanced product development and investment in cutting-edge technologies that deliver real-world benefits to customers across critical industries.

The firm identified a significant challenge in meeting the extreme demands of subsea environments and developed a proprietary new grade of filled PTFE called Crossflon® XS to meet the needs of critical offshore projects with linear bearings capable of withstanding extremely high vertical pressures, minimal friction, enhanced creep resistance and long-term durability in corrosive subsea environments; all while guaranteeing zero maintenance over a 20-year lifespan.

The Energy & Sustainability shortlist reflects the company’s ambitious environmental strategy, including achieving Bronze accreditation with the Carbon Literacy Project and ongoing initiatives to reduce emissions, improve resource efficiency, and embed sustainable practices throughout its operations.

Dave Haxton, Managing Director at Beldam Crossley, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be shortlisted in not one but two categories at the Make UK Awards. To be recognised for both our innovative product development and our commitment to sustainability is a testament to the hard work, creativity, and dedication of our entire team. Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the biggest names in UK manufacturing demonstrates just how far we’ve come and where we’re heading.”

The Make UK Manufacturing Awards celebrate the very best in British industry, recognising businesses that are driving positive change, shaping the future of manufacturing, and contributing to both economic growth and environmental progress.

The regional finals will take place later this year, with winners going forward to the national awards in early 2026. For more information on Beldam Crossley, please visit www.beldamcrossley.co.uk
